Fat Joe, Jazz Cartier, Section Boyz, D.R.A.M. & Benji-B in Amsterdam for Appelsap Fresh Music Festival on August 13th

Fat Joe, Jazz Cartier, Section Boyz, D.R.A.M., Benji-B, Lil Silva, Josey Rebelle, J. Rocc, Elf Kid and FS Green are among the acts performing at Appelsap Fresh Music Festival, on August 13th in Flevopark, Amsterdam.

As summer approaches fast, so does the annual Appelsap Fresh Music Festival, that takes place on August 13th in the beautiful Flevopark on the east side of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Appelsap show cases 4 stages of fresh music that ranges from Hiphop, Grime and R&B to Bass, Disco and beyond. The Appelsap main stage represents today’s and tomorrow’s hottest international Hiphop acts and the Noisey stage is keeping it grimy as always. This year’s electronic music stage will be hosted by UK’s leading DJ and music connoisseur Benji-B (Deviation). Finally, two of Amsterdam’s finest crews, Red Light Radio and BBQ hook up to host their own stage. Acts that have been announced so far are Fat Joe, Jazz Cartier, Section Boyz, D.R.A.M., Benji-B, Lil Silva, Josey Rebelle, J. Rocc, Martelo, Elf Kid, AJ Tracey and Dutch top tier acts like FS Green, Cinnaman, Yung Internet, Bea1991, Sir OJ, Mairo Nawaz and Vic Crezée.

Forever Forward

In previous years Appelsap festival became widely known for introducing acts to the Netherlands like Kendrick Lamar, Travi$ Scott, Disclosure, Danny Brown, ScHoolboy Q, Lunice and French Montana to a European crowd. Last year the festival celebrated its 15th anniversary in a sold out Flevopark with headliners Skepta, Rich Homie Quan, Stormzy and Mobb Deep. This summer, Appelsap amplifies its progressive character with a brand new campaign: Forever Forward. Acclaimed photographer Karen Rosetzsky shot portraits of the next generation Dutch talent (the Appelsap Massive) and upcoming director Madja Amin shot the campaign video exploring the Forever Forward theme. 

Holland’s largest Hiphop festival will take place on August 13th at Flevopark in Amsterdam. Besides music you can find a broad range of international cuisine and children’s activities at the festival. Tickets are available at appelsap.net/tickets

Appelsap brings world-class Hiphop, R&B, grime, electronic music and Dutch talent to Amsterdam.

Since starting out as a free summer jam back in 2000, Appelsap has grown into the groundbreaking festival it is today. Its line-up ranges from local talent to the elite of world-class Hiphop, Grime, R&B and progressive electronic music. Despite the festival’s continuing growth, the convivial atmosphere is still as tangible as it was during the early days. Besides fresh music, there is a wide range of international cuisine and activities for kids (who can get in for free under 12).

Appelsap is famous for introducing fresh acts to a Dutch Crowd. In previous years Appelsap premiered acts like Kendrick Lamar, Travi$ Scott, Migos, Young Thug, Skepta, Stormzy, J Hus, Dave, Disclosure, 070Shake, slowthai, Lunice, Flatbush Zombies, French Montana, Danny Brown, ScHoolboy Q, Theophilus London and music platforms like Boiler Room and Soulection in the Netherlands. Other names that billed earlier Appelsap line ups are Lil Wayne, Hudson Mohawke, Waka Flocka Flame, Clipse, Action Bronson, Pharoahe Monch, Fat Joe, Rustie, DJ EZ, J. Dilla, Rich Medina, Krept & Konan and 67. We count some of the world's best DJ’s as our good friends: Tiffany Calver, Cinnaman, Amy Becker, Benji-B, Oneman, Patta Soundsystem, Abstract, Vic Crezée and Mairo Nawaz are all well known guests who often return to the festival.
